Flood risk
Five flood maps, one address. If any of them flags your street, plan as if you’ll flood.
Your address on five maps
0 of 5 checked-

Sets insurance rules. Lenders require flood insurance in A and V zones.
ZIP center Zone X: minimal mapped hazard
-
California Best Available Maps ↗ State · DWR

County levee-break maps ↗ County · American River North
Five possible breaks in the levees north of the American River, each with a flood-depth map and an evacuation route. Covers Arden-Arcade.

How to read it Type your address and open the Flood tab.
-
First Street Flood Factor ↗ Independent · second opinion
A free 1–10 flood score that includes rain-driven flooding and the next 30 years. Not an official map.
How to read it 1 is minimal. 3 and up means some risk the official maps may not show.
Why “Zone X” isn’t “no risk” here
Levees reduce risk; they don’t remove it. The county’s break maps show where water would go if one failed, and how fast. That’s why we count a street flagged on any map, not only FEMA’s.
- What it is
- Your address checked on the five flood maps that cover 95821: federal, state, county, Cal OES and an independent score.
- Why it’s here
- Each map answers a different question, and one map can miss a risk another shows, like a levee break.
- What it helps with
- Deciding on flood insurance before the 30-day wait runs out, and knowing your street before the water does.
- How to use it
- Enter your address, open the other three maps and tap what each shows. One flag is enough to plan for a flood.
